Privacy Policy

SovrenSkills Technologies ("SovrenSkills", "we", "us", "our") is a DPIIT Recognised EdTech company based in Bangalore, India. We provide online training programs, internship placement services and career development resources to college students across India.

Information you provide directly:

• Full name, email address, phone number
• College name, course, branch and year of study
• Payment details — processed by Cashfree; we do not store card or UPI numbers
• Login ID and password (stored encrypted using bcrypt — we cannot see your plain-text password)
• Messages submitted via our Contact Us form or career application forms

Information collected automatically:

• Browser type and operating system
• IP address and approximate location (city-level)
• Pages visited and time spent on the platform
• Session cookies required for login functionality

• To create and manage your student account and dashboard
• To deliver program content, assignments, live session links and induction materials
• To send your Login ID, password and enrollment confirmation via email
• To provide internship placement referrals to our hiring partners (with your consent)
• To respond to your support queries promptly
• To send important program updates — schedule changes, new content, induction details
• To send occasional promotional emails about new programs (you can unsubscribe anytime)
• To improve our platform based on usage patterns
• To comply with legal obligations under Indian law

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party. Full stop.

We may share limited information with the following trusted partners solely to operate our service:

• Hiring partners (312+ companies) — only with your explicit consent during the placement process. Only name, program completed, and certificate ID are shared.
• Cashfree Payments — to securely process your payment. They are RBI-authorised and PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.
• Brevo (email service) — to send transactional and program emails on our behalf. They do not use your data for their own purposes.
• Render (cloud hosting) — your data is stored on their secure servers with encryption at rest.
• Law enforcement / courts — only when required by applicable Indian law or a valid court order.

• Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — we cannot recover or view your plain-text password
• All data transmitted over HTTPS with SSL/TLS encryption
• Payment data is handled entirely by Cashfree — PCI DSS Level 1 compliant
• Database stored on Render's persistent storage with atomic write protection and automatic backups
• Admin access protected with session security and rate limiting
• Regular security reviews and dependency updates

Despite these measures, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet and are not liable for breaches caused by factors outside our reasonable control.

We use minimal, strictly necessary cookies only:

• Session cookie: Keeps you logged in while using the platform. Deleted when you log out or close your browser.
• No advertising cookies. We do not use Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking cookies.
• No analytics cookies that track you across other websites.

Under the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India), you have the following rights:

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specific retention periods:

• Account data: Retained while your account is active + 12 months after last login
• Payment records: 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations
• Support messages: 2 years for quality assurance
• Certificate records: Indefinitely — for verification purposes

If you request account deletion, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where legal retention obligations apply.

Our services are intended for college students aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately at rishikantbscity@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. When we make material changes:

• We update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• We notify enrolled students via email for significant changes
• We may display a banner on the platform for 14 days after major updates

Continued use of our platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
